Prime Video Sports is seeking a strategic and analytical researcher with a passion for understanding sports fans to join our team as we build a best-in-class Sports Insights department. Prime Video Sports offers an impressive and growing selection of live and on demand sports content to Amazon customers, including NFL Thursday Night Football, the NBA (starting in 2025), NASCAR (starting in 2025), the NWSL, the WNBA, and New York Yankees games. This group helps fuel PV Sports’ effort to become the go-to-sports streaming destination for fans.
The ideal candidate is a data-driven, tactical thinker who excels at obtaining data, interpreting it and communicating it in an influential way that propels the business forward.
This individual then be able to offer prescriptive guidance--often on problems with ambiguity--to senior leaders across the business about Sports and Sports fans. Experience is an asset. The person in this role will benefit from being steeped in sports fandom, preferably with an established range of tools, techniques and research partners to call upon to conduct projects. The ideal candidate will be able manage the complete process from end-to-end from soliciting clients' questions all the way thru to a solution that tells them what the data says and what to do about it. This includes meeting with the client, selecting the correct technique, choosing a research partner, designing and executing the work and delivering results.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will concurrently focus on the measurement of PV’s sports properties as well as development of fan insights around each sport.
In a measurement capacity, you’ll use first party data and Nielsen data to provide ongoing assessments of each Sport’s viewership. From an Insights perspective, you will work with syndicated reports, quantitative studies, and qualitative projects to help PV leadership better understand the wants and needs of sports fans. Specifically, you will:
-Synthesize various data sources to contribute to weekly and monthly business reviews and long-range plans
-Utilize syndicated research surveys (e.g., YouGov, MRI, GWI) to support projects across PV Sports.
-Establish consistent and trusting relationships with a client group that extends across the Sports team and Amazon
-Commission the execution, analysis and reporting of survey projects and primary research studies
-Support Nielsen rating process entering program lineups, generating daily and weekly reporting and informing forecasting
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
-a Bachelor’s Degree
-6+ years of research experience in either the Tech, Sports, or Media Research (preferably Sports)
-Proficiency reporting on data from measurement systems. Ex: Nielsen, Adobe, comScore etc.
-Experience with verbal and written communication for senior audiences
-Proficient in Excel
