Job Description

Position Summary:

This role is multifaceted and responsible for 1) category management, 2) managing an existing base of international suppliers, 3) selecting and developing new suppliers, particularly from China, 4) managing the selection, development, and production of new products, 5) Establishing and manage retail and wholesale prices across all products and categories, and 6) collaborate with the marketing, training, and operations teams, along with the broader WAVE team on various projects and initiatives, as described in more detail below

Position Responsibilities:

· Managing all product categories for Amazing Lash, Elements Massage, Drybar Shops and Radiant Waxing, including selecting new and replacement products supporting each brand and category’s strategy. There are approximately 180 unique vendors and 1300 active SKUs at WAVE

· Responsible for all five ecommerce sites that support our brands, including the regular review of item costs, trends & the competitive landscape in order to establish and maintain:

o Consumer level retail prices (MSRP) to be charged in shops, salons and studios, as well as the company’s consumer website(s) and third-party retailers (i.e. Nordstrom)

o Wholesale prices to shops, salons and studios, as well third-party retailers.

o Price increases on a semi-annual and annual basis, as needed.

· Recommend and develop products with new and existing suppliers, including sourcing formulas, packaging, and routing of creative.

· Regular attendance at relevant tradeshows (i.e. Cosmoprof) to stay on top of product innovation and trends in the industry, including development of vendor relationships in support of the company’s broader franchise innovation strategies.

· Product sourcing in support of in-flight and pending innovation projects including pilot and rollout needs.

· Supplier relationships and contract negotiations.

· Support both the finance department and the Manager of Inventory Control & Logistics, along with select vendors with forecasts for replenishment and new products to issue purchase orders to suppliers. 

· Member of the Social Compliance Committee in support of company’s Corporate Social Responsibility program at WAVE (together with the Chief Supply Chain Officer, the Chief Legal Officer, the Director of Product Integrity, and the Senior Director of Warehouse Operations).

Essential Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree and 5-10 years’ experience in the following areas: procurement/purchasing, buying, category management and vendor relations.

· International sourcing and buying experience a plus

· Experience in sourcing beauty, wellness, or health products or a high level of passion for those categories

· Experience working with P&L’s: revenue, COGS, gross profit margins, margin analysis, etc.

· Team oriented.

· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

· Ability to manage multiple projects. 

· Strong computer skills are required, especially in Microsoft Excel

· Experience using NetSuite and Oracle a plus

· Willing to travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes, including domestic and potential international travel to suppliers, tradeshows and other company events

Reporting To This Position:

· No direct employees, directs third party technology vendor in support of eCommerce sites
