Key Responsibilities

The Jr Health Physics Technician will work seamlessly with the Radiation Safety Officer to ensure all safety of employees and site by monitoring radiation levels, testing areas and surfaces for contamination.

Essential Function

• Use of various devices to monitor radiation/contamination
• Perform radiation surveys as necessary and assist the RSO where required
• Provide Radiation protection guidance to other members of staff as needed.
• Perform testing procedures from samples
• Assist the RSO in implementing the facility wide Health and Safety program and maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations and standards.

You Must Have

• High School Diploma or equivalent with a Science based curriculum
• Proven oral and written communication and proofreading skills required.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks daily
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and to stand or sit for long lengths of time with or without accommodation
• Ability to wear a respiratory protection gear
