Heartwood Community School is a community-focused, tuition-free charter school serving Jasper, Beaufort, and Hampton Counties in South Carolina. THE ROLE

Elementary Lead Teachers at Heartwood Community School are certified educators dedicated to creating a nurturing and empowering classroom environment for students in kindergarten through 3rd grade. Our teachers inspire students academically and cultivate character, guiding each child to develop resilience, empathy, curiosity, and global awareness. Rooted in our whole-child approach, Heartwood teachers honor every students unique story, supporting growth in every aspect of their lives.

With a commitment to continuous improvement, our educators bring a growth mindset to their work. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build a strong, inclusive classroom community by forming meaningful relationships with students and families, honoring each students unique story.
  • Support students with direct, small-group, and differentiated instruction tailored to diverse learning needs, encouraging growth across all aspects of their development.
  • Assess student learning regularly and adapt instruction to meet individual needs, embracing a growth mindset and seeing mistakes as valuable learning opportunities.
  • Commit to continuous professional and personal growth through reflection, feedback, and collaboration, embodying the schools dedication to lifelong learning.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Must currently possess a South Carolina teaching certification or commit to becoming certified in the state of South Carolina by August 1, 2025

COMPENSATION

The salary for this role is $80,000, with eligibility for a relocation package. To uphold our commitment to equitable and fair compensation, we offer a competitive salary and have a no-negotiation policy.
