Job Description

The Electrical Safety Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing safety programs specific to electrical work within data center construction projects. This role requires a proactive approach to identify hazards, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and foster a culture of safety among all team members and subcontractors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that all electrical work adheres to industry standards and best practices.
  • Conduct safety training sessions for employees and subcontractors on electrical safety protocols, hazard recognition, and emergency response procedures.
  • Ensure that all personnel are properly trained and certified for electrical work.
  • Perform regular site inspections to monitor compliance with safety practices and regulations.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, determine root causes, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to promote safety as a priority on all projects.
  • Facilitate regular safety meetings to discuss concerns, improvements, and updates in safety practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety training, inspections, incidents, and safety audits.
  • Prepare and submit reports to management regarding safety performance and initiatives.
  • Stay current with industry regulations and safety standards, including OSHA and NFPA guidelines, ensuring compliance throughout all projects.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in safety management; experience in industrial, manufacturing, or data center construction preferred.
  • OSHA 500 certification (Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry) is preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
