Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead the on-site construction efforts for large multi-family residential projects in San Francisco, CA. This role requires an experienced professional with a strong background in wood-frame construction, concrete slab on grade, and project management utilizing Microsoft Project. The ideal candidate will oversee all phases of construction, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to the highest quality and safety standards. This position does not involve the construction of elevators or podiums.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise On-Site Construction: Direct day-to-day operations on the construction site, ensuring work is executed efficiently and in compliance with project specifications.
• Concrete Slab on Grade Oversight: Manage the preparation, placement, and curing of slab-on-grade foundations, ensuring proper techniques and specifications are followed.
• Wood-Frame Construction: Lead the construction of wood-frame structures, ensuring alignment with design documents and building codes.
• Project Scheduling & Coordination: Utilize MS Project to develop and maintain construction schedules, ensuring project milestones are met.
• Quality Control: Inspect work for compliance with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards. Address any deficiencies promptly.
• Budget & Cost Control: Monitor project costs and ensure all work is completed within the budget. Review subcontractor invoices and change orders.
• Safety Management: Enforce safety standards on the job site, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of tasks and material deliveries.
• Client and Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for the project, providing regular updates to the project manager and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years as a superintendent in multi-family construction, with experience in wood-frame construction and concrete slab on grade.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Project for scheduling and project tracking.
• Certifications: OSHA 30 certification preferred; other safety certifications are a plus.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in the surrounding areas.
• Leadership: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve on-site issues efficiently, ensuring minimal delays to the project schedule.
