Chaplain/ Director of Student Ministries

We are seeking a Chaplain / Director of Student Ministries, who is a committed and faithful Christian who is able to articulate a personal relationship with Christ, a sound knowledge of Scripture and a passion for discipleship.  Responsible for the leadership in the school’s spiritual development and growth, for demonstrated pastoral ability/gifting required for both interpersonal and corporate level interaction with students, faculty and families, a heart for both local service and missions as a primary avenue of cultivating faith and leadership within students, for planning and administering the Student Ministries budget and for supporting a positive and mutually beneficial relationships with the school community, students, parents, staff and local churches under the direction of the Head of School and in accordance with the policies and mission of the school as set forth by the Board of Trustees.  

What You Bring:

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree including one of the following: theology, Christian ministry, leadership, youth ministry, or similar training. Master's degree is strongly preferred.
• Ministry and/or educational experience with young adults
• Evidence of a teachable spirit and general willingness to learn and grow. 
• Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships and rally others around ministry vision and goals. 
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively communicate with students, staff, and the community.
• Strong organizational and management skills, to plan, organize, execute and evaluate spiritual formation goals.
• A deep commitment to Christian education with a culture of servant-leadership.

 Personal Characteristics & Spiritual Qualities

• Is a committed follower of Jesus Christ and seeks to live as His disciple demonstrating a desire for spiritual growth in all aspects of his/her life. 
• Must be an active member in good standing and faithful participant of a local, Bible-believing church. 
• Be a role model in speech, actions, and attitudes (both on and off campus) and model a consistent daily walk with Christ. 
• Resolve conflict biblically with parents, students, staff, administration, and Board. 
• Be available for prayer and counseling as needed by parents, teachers, and students. 
• Be involved with the devotional and prayer time with the faculty. 
• Pray for CHS regularly – the Board of Trustees, the staff, the families, the students, and the activities.
